It has an open centre flanked by leaves, topped with a trio of flowers and finished at the base with two bunches of grapes.

The back is a smooth-polished leaf shape, pierced and cut into fronds, and is welded (not hinged) to the front.

It is signed with the early “GI” mark and marked “DENMARK STERLING” above the design number “61“. Information on the GI mark varies but according to a Danish site dates the bookmark to 1909 – 1914.

It is 5.6 cm high by 4.5 cm wide (2.2″ by 1.8″) and weighs 13 grams (0.45 oz).

It is in very good antique condition. The back and front appear to be as close together as they ever were and there are no dings or dents – just some slight age-consistent surface scratching. It has not been cleaned.
