This is quirky vintage novelty brooch dating to the late 1940s, of bright turquoise and pink rhinestones in a tasselled “picture frame”, slightly domed with the four corners curling in towards the garment. The “picture” is a mother-of-pearl plaque with a similarly turquoise-pink iridescence, in a serrated bezel. The brooch is finished with a pink rhinestone-centred filigree flower and a filigree leaf masking the loop holding the four-chain tassel. The setting is gold tone fitted with a rollover safety clasp. Altogether a light-hearted, sparkly and very wearable piece of vintage jewellery.
Size: 6 cm high including the tassel by 2.5 cm wide (2.4″ x 1″)
Condition: This vintage brooch is in very good condition with some age-related wear to the gold tone, not noticeable except on close inspection, and no damage or missing rhinestones. The clasp is stiff but not defective.
