This is a stunning 1950s vintage rhinestone brooch. It has a wonderful mix of soft colours and amazing sparkle, making this a dazzling but also wearable brooch.
A large soft-pink rhinestone is set high in the centre, held by close-set prongs. The stone is deep and heavily faceted on the reverse, giving it plenty of sparkle. It is surrounded by small round aurora borealis stones with a fiery sparkle, with reds glinting through the pale green-blue-golds. These are surrounded by pink rhinestones in a softer, more dusky shade of pink than the centre stone. The gaps between them are plugged by tiny aurora borealis stones at the edge of the brooch. All the stones are foil backed and prong set.
The setting is silvertone and fitted with an older-style rollover safety clasp.

It is a touch under 4 cm across (1.5″) and a full 2 cm (3/4″) high
Marks
Stamped “MADE IN AUSTRIA” on the reverse.
Condition
This brooch is in excellent vintage condition with all the stones present and undamaged. There is slight wear to the pin stem and to rollover clasp, otherwise the silvertone is bright and intact.
