A vintage crystal necklace dating to the 1950s, with two strands of biconal lavender-pink crystals.
The colour is pale and delicate – not quite lavender, not quite pink – with a delicate aurora borealis wash. The crystals are intersprsed with smaller biconals and graduate down in size towards the back. The strands attach to silver-tone metal gathers set with three rhinestones, and a hook and extender chain closure allows for an adjustable length.
The shortest strand is 44.5 cm (17.5″) long, including the hook and extender chain.
No maker’s or other marks.
Very good vintage condition.
No chips or damage. Some slight scuffing along the facets of the largest crystals but this is not at all noticeable. The aurora borealis coating is in good condition – please note that it originally had a delicate rather than “all over” coating – and the silvertone gathers are bright with very little wear and no missing rhinestones.
